This beautiful vista of a mountainous edge of Syrtis Major was taken by a lone adventurer on a Mars backpacking trip. Thanks to advances in life support technology, a person can walk great distances for weeks at a time with only the equipment on his or her back. Keeping warm is actually a bigger energy consumer than making breathable air. The weight of the equipment is also made bearable by the low gravity of Mars.
